Western Branch Symphonic Band

 

Our Western Branch High School Symphonic Band is one of our district’s finest performing ensembles.  Our band is comprised of some of Chesapeake’s best and brightest students.  

 

Our Symphonic Band continues to strive to become one of our districts leading centers of musical excellence. The Symphonic Band has a large responsibility of representing our school in our Distict IV Concert Assesment, which largely defines our band's performing abilities at its most mature level.  

 

The Symphonic Band also performs at nationally based concert assessements during the Spring semester.  The group has traveled and performed in New York, New Orleans, Orlando, Fl, and is  scheduled to perform in the Nashville, TN for a National Concert Asssessment in the spring of 2017. These travel opportunities offer our students a chance to investigate real life connections over several content areas.

 

The overall benefit of the discipline, preparation, performance, and travel experiences are unmatched by any traditional classroom experience. 

 

The Symphonic Band is hand selected by the band director througout the year.  The selection process is based on dependability, performance, maturity, behavior, and overall committment.
